At an executive level, strategy comes in two flavours: those you have to transform into reality & those you are able to influence by being innovative. The first one requires you to understand & translate the strategy into practical & contagious ways. The second one requires you to be innovative & able to negotiatiate your way back to refine the strategy & achieve more than previously imagined. I am schooled in both directions.
